Labour Market Partnership launching to Jobs Success

Ards and North Down Labour Market Partnership launched its Action Plan 2023-2024

Ards and North Down Labour Market Partnership launched its Action Plan 2023-2024 in the Chamber, City Hall on Thursday 23rd November. After securing funding from the Department for Communities to address employment skills and gaps specifically in the Ards and North Down Borough, it will give residents the opportunity to reskill or upskill, at no cost to themselves.

As part of the Action Plan a Transport Academy and an Academy for People with Disabilities were unveiled. Mayor of Ards and North Down Borough Council, Councillor Jennifer Gilmore said “The unique opportunities such as those offered through the Transport Academy, which offers fully funded training for 66 participants, followed by employment support to secure jobs with salaries often in excess of £40k, are simply fantastic. The Academy for People with Disabilities will see 33 participants recruited and trained to meet identified skills gaps in the Borough. These opportunities must be embraced and supported. “

Also in attendance were participants from previous Academies, who shared their personal stories and journeys along with representatives from local employers who have benefited and recruited from the Academies run by the Labour Market Partnership.

These Academies are now open for application, should you be interested in applying or require any further details on the full Labour Market Partnership Action Plan 2023-2024 or upcoming Academies please contact the Labour Market Partnership Team on 0300 013 3333 Ext 40958 or visit our website:
