Beyond the Battlefield NI aims to assist veterans of the armed forces, offering specialist counselling for PTSD. Beyond the Battlefield NI offers safe and comfortable rooms in Portavogie veterans centre funded by AFCFT for veterans at risk of, or facing homelessness.

Beyond the Battlefield NI facilitates increased community and social integration. The Enhance project for homeless veterans is an intervention for veterans at risk of or find themselves homeless by addressing immediate housing needs and deep-seated trauma, helping to stabilise lives, find permanent accommodation and reduce the likelihood of social isolation and homelessness recurrence.

Donaghadee Heritage Company

The Donaghadee Heritage Preservation Company delivers immersive heritage experiences centred on the restoration and interpretation of the historic Sir Samuel Kelly lifeboat. Its core activity is the telling the story of the 1953 Princess Victoria disaster and the lifeboat’s role in one of the most significant maritime rescue efforts in UK and Irish waters. Additional activities include conservation of the vessel, educational outreach, and community engagement through events, talks, and collaborations.

Stepping Stones NI is a charitable organisation operating for 28 years, operating six social enterprises that serve as realistic training platforms for people with learning disabilities to gain new skills and qualifications. These include three cafes, a wedding stationery and picture framing business, and a horticulture and well-being hub. Five social enterprises are located in the Lisburn area with our Gatelodge Café located at the entrance to Ards Community Hospital.
Stepping Stones NI's employment and training service supports people who experience barriers to learning and employment, offering tailored support to people who are neurodiverse, including individuals who have autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or who experience mental health challenges and other barriers to finding work and staying in work. This service is available throughout Ards and North Down Borough.
