Internet of Things Programme

The Internet of Things (IoT) solutions will provide dramatic improvements in everything we do – from agriculture and manufacturing to leisure and healthcare. The revolution is starting now, and we want Ards and North Down to be at its centre.

The development of IoT will be as dramatic as the development of the internet, and at the basic level it’s just as simple. Simple, affordable, and easily available sensors connect with low power wide area networks to build the ‘big data’ picture of the world around us – is it too hot or too cold, is the gate open, is traffic flowing freely – sensors can tell us what we need to know to keep things under control.

Get Started

We want everyone to use IoT. But things are a little difficult just at the moment. So we’re arranging a series of online events to help people connect, discuss and start to develop their ideas. The workshops will be practical – to discuss real problems and practical solutions. Local IoT experts will be present to assist with solution approaches. The most exciting ideas will be followed through with free hardware and support for developing prototype solutions.
