About the event

Find out more about two employment schemes available to employers; the Job Start Scheme and the Apprenticeship Scheme

Ards and North Down Borough Council, in partnership with the Department for Economy and the Department for Communities will be hosting a free webinar for local businesses to find out more about two employment schemes available to employers; the Job Start Scheme and the Apprenticeships NI scheme.

Job Start Scheme

The JobStart Scheme is a £20 million fund to create thousands of high quality job opportunities for young people. Funding available for each job opportunity will cover the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week, plus the associated employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions. There will also be funding available to support young people to develop new skills and to help them move into sustained employment after they have completed their JobStart funded job. Through the scheme, you’ll be able to access a pool of young people with potential, ready for an opportunity.

Apprenticeships NI Scheme

An apprentice can be a new or existing employee starting a new position. Take on an apprentice to discover fresh talent and thinking to meet your business needs and grow together. Employing an apprentice is like employing any other employee. During this time you will share your industry expertise and knowledge by providing mentoring and “on the job” training. Your apprentice will attend directed or “off the job” training (usually one day per week) to achieve the relevant industry qualifications and requirements which will be delivered by your chosen training contractor. For apprentices aged 16-24, DfE will fully fund the ‘off the job’ training.

It is entirely at the Council’s discretion to accept registrations. Registrations from companies outside the Borough may be considered in exceptional circumstances, also at the entire discretion of the council.

Please note that by registering onto this event, you agree to share your name, company name and objectives with the third party delivery agents, DfC and DfE. The information you provide will not be routinely shared with a third party outside of these webinars.

Early Booking in Highly Recommended.
